Asus ZenFone 6 Launched With Flip Camera

Image
Asus has just announced its new flagship smartphone the ZenFone 6 which seems to be an excellent device. The main focus here is the 48MP flip camera that completely removes the need for a notch on the device. Asus has stepped up their game with the release of the ZenFone 6 since it is a worthy alternative to the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro coming in at just  $499 for the base variant. Unlike the Galaxy A80's camera module which slides around, the ZenFone 6's camera simply flips around entirely. Of course, being a flagship smartphone, the device packs in the latest and greatest silicone and features. Here are the specifications for the ZenFone 6. Asus ZenFone 6 Specifications 6.4-inch FHD+ (19.5:9, 1080×2340) LCD display. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. 6GB/8GB RAM. 128GB/256GB expandable storage. 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. 48MP primary + 13MP ultrawide. Midnight Black/Twilight Silver color options. Google Assistant Gets New Animation When Launched

Image
Google's personal assistant is easily the best smart assistant currently available on smartphones. It's available on almost every Android smartphone right out of the box and can be installed on iOS devices as well. Well, the best assistant has now received an update which brings along a new UI when launching the assistant. Prior to the update, launching Google Assistant brought up a white pop-up styled box; however, after the installing the update, when you bring up Google Assistant you would be able to see a cool transparent pop-up at the bottom with the " Hi, I'm listening... " text. This new update does not bring along any other changes to Google Assistant apart from the redesign when launching the assistant via voice command or by pressing and holding on the home button or any other toggle which launches the assistant. Google announced several new features at I/O 2019 coming to Google Assistant later this year hence there's a lot to be exci

OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro Launched - Price, Specifications, Availability

Image
After a bunch of leaks and rumors, it's finally here. Yes, OnePlus has officially released the OnePlus 7 and the pricier OnePlus 7 Pro. While the OnePlus 7 isn't something to be excited about, the 7 Pro, on the other hand, is absolutely stunning and is a true flagship smartphone that competes with the best from Samsung and Huawei. The new flagship device from OnePlus comes with a ton of new features with the latest Oxygen OS and the 7 Pro packs in a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor, an ultra-wide-angle lens as well as a 3x optical zoom lens. What makes the OnePlus 7 really interesting is its price which starts at INR 32,999 , ( *cough - cough* Google, sup? ) The OnePlus 7 Pro starts at INR 48,999 which is pretty great considering everything on offer. These new devices also have Dolby Atmos powered stereo speakers which is absolutely amazing since almost every device from the company had average speakers at best. OnePlus 7 Pro Images Leaked Before Launch

Image
In less than 24 hours, OnePlus would be unveiling its brand new flagship smartphones which would be the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. The company would be hosting the launch event in three regions simultaneously; India, US, and Europe. I've already covered the press render leaks for the OnePlus 7 Pro; however, we can finally see the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro in all its glory with a few leaked user images. Notorious phone leaker Ice Universe took to Twitter and posted a few user images of the OnePlus 7 Pro in the stunning Nebula Blue color. OnePlus 7 Pro! pic.twitter.com/M8mALj6Tcc — Ice universe (@UniverseIce) May 13, 2019 The front of the device looks exactly like the Oppo Find X and even has the curved edges traditionally found on flagship devices from Samsung. OnePlus seems to have really created an excellent smartphone that could possibly be the best smartphone of the year if all the rumors and leaks are to be believed. Nonetheless, with just a few hour

Redmi K20 And K20 Pro Naming Confirmed and Rumored Specifications

Image
Xiaomi decided to make Redmi an independent brand a few months ago in China and since then, Redmi has launched a few budget smartphones; however, the brand does not have a premium flagship smartphone under the Redmi branding. This might be changing soon since there have been several rumors and leaks surrounding Redmi's upcoming flagship smartphones. Just today, online publication mysmartprice received a confirmation that the rumored Redmi devices would be called the K20 and K20 Pro. (Mediocre naming, I know) What's even more interesting is that one of the devices could possibly be launched as the Poco F2 in India; however, this is just speculation at the moment. Redmi K20 and K20 Pro Rumored Specifications Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC 6.39-inch AMOLED display (no notch) 6GB/8GB RAM 64GB/128GB/256GB internal storage 48MP primary sensor + 8MP ultra-wide sensor + 16MP telephoto lens 32MP pop-up front camera 4,000mAh battery I'm unsure if there are

The Best Digital Wellbeing Alternative On Android

Image
Google introduced Digital Wellbeing at I/O 2018 with an aim to make users aware of the amount of time spent on their smartphones. Unfortunately, the Digital Wellbeing app isn't yet available on most smartphones other than Google's own Pixel devices and a few non-Pixel devices. There's no reason to be disappointed though since there's an excellent application developed by Android app developer Chris Lacy. ActionDash: Digital Wellbeing & Screen Time helper is the app in the spotlight since it offers everything you'd need to keep track of your smartphone usage and even has a few extra features up its sleeves that you wouldn't find with Google's Digital Wellbeing app. HOW TO USE ACTIONDASH Let's check out how to set up the ActionDash application an how to use it. Download and install ActionDash by clicking here . After installing the application, launch it and enable usage data access for the app to function. Once you've grant

The Best Earphones Under 500 In India

Image
Not everyone out there is an audiophile hence buying expensive earphones might not make sense for some individuals. Fortunately, you don't have to spend over INR 500 to get a good pair of earphones these days and to make things easier, I've rounded up the best budget earphones under INR 500. Of course, these budget earphones aren't as durable as pricier earphones; however, these buds can last for a year or two and at times even longer. So without wasting much time, let's take a look at the best earphones under INR 500. TOP EARPHONE PICKS UNDER 500 1. Mi Earphones Basic -   AAD Rating 8.5/10 Xiaomi's budget earphones are easily the best value for money earphones to buy at the moment since not only do the earphones have a great sound profile but they are also one of the only buds in the price to have an aluminum housing. The tangle-free cable is also a bonus at this price and the earphones have a frequency response range of 20 - 20,000Hz.

How To Record Calls on Samsung Galaxy S9

Image
Call recording is a fairly basic feature and was present in almost every cell phone since the past few years. However, with the introduction of Android 9 Pie, Google had to make a few changed due to privacy concerns in Germany regarding call recording. Recording phone calls is no longer a native feature with Android 9 Pie and the update renders other third-party call recording applications pretty much pointless. While you could technically still record calls using the microphone and loudspeaker, the recorded quality is super low and mostly inaudible. Fortunately, Samsung Galaxy S9 owners can still record calls even after updating their device with the Android 9 Pie update and without much further ado, let's check out how to do so. How To Record Calls Recording calls is fairly easy and it would barely take a minute to set up the call recording feature. Launch the Phone/Dialer  application. Tap on the 3-dots icon towards the top right of the sc

OnePlus 7 Pro To Feature An Improved, Redesigned Vibration Motor

Image
The launch of the OnePlus 7 Pro and the standard OnePlus 7 is just around the corner. I've already covered several rumors and leaks on the device and the company has confirmed a number of features officially. CNET had an exclusive email interview with OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau in which he confirmed that the company has listened to feedback from OnePlus users and have redesigned and improved the vibration motor in the OnePlus 7 Pro . Most OnePlus devices owners would agree that the vibration motor on their device is pretty weak and inconsistent. Fortunately, that might change with the redesigned vibration motor which would be much better than existing vibration motors on OnePlus devices. Image source: Ishan Agarwal Twitter Pete Lau also posted a tweet in response to the CNET article confirming that the OnePlus 7 Pro has a "New engine rebuilt with the OnePlus community to deliver just the right buzz." I'm picking up good vibrations 🎚️ Ne

Huawei P Smart Z Launched With Pop-up Selfie Camera

Image
A few smartphone vendors are opting to go with a pop-up selfie camera to eliminate any bezels on their smartphones. We first saw this with Vivo's concept Apex smartphone and then with the Vivo Nex. Huawei   has now also released their first smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera named the Huawei P Smart Z. The 16-megapixel selfie camera pops up within one second when needed and automatically closes when the front camera is not in use. Huawei's P Smart Z’s pop-up mechanism can withstand up to 12kg (~26.5 pounds) of pressure and would work even after 100,000 cycles as claimed by Huawei. This mid-range device comes with a large 6.59-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 (FullHD+). Towards the back of the device, we've got a dual-camera setup; 16MP primary sensor and 2MP depth sensor. Powering this device is a 4,000mAh battery and the mid-range Kirin 710F SoC which is basically the Kirin 710 with a couple of changes. The devic

Apex Legends To Launch This Year On Mobile Devices

Image
Ever since the launch of PUBG Mobile, the smartphone gaming movement has taken off. We're seeing mobile e-sports tournaments being held regularly, some with high prize pools as well. Battle Royale games are all the craze these days and most game developers are introducing their very own battle royale game for the masses to play. In February, the popular game company EA released its own battle royale game called Apex Legends developed by Respawn Entertainment which has become massively popular. It's currently only available to play on the PC, PS 4 and X-Box One. However, the company has now stated in their  quarterly earnings announcement that they would be bringing over Apex Legends to mobile devices (Android and iOS) later this year. We are in advanced negotiations to bring Apex Legends to China and to mobile, and we  will update you on time frames when those negotiations are concluded . EA has not revealed any specific dates for the release of the game for

How To Toggle On True Dark Mode In Android Q

Image
Google just wrapped up I/O 2019 and showed off its new mid-range Pixel devices which are the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL . The company also announced the latest Android 10 Q beta 3 update which is now available on several devices including non-Pixel smartphones. Of course, this is still only a beta build hence I wouldn't suggest installing it on your primary smartphone; however, if you're willing to live on the edge, then there's no harm in checking out the latest features Android Q has to offer. One of the most asked for features has been a ' true dark mode ' on Android. Some manufacturers such as Samsung have already implemented true dark mode themes with their custom skin over Android. Google tried out a dark theme with the Android 9 Pie update; however, the theme wasn't really systemwide and it didn't have a true black color. Fortunately, dark mode is now available with the Android Q beta 3 update and here's how to enable it. How to

Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL Unveiled At I/O 2019

Image
Google's Pixel series of smartphones have consistently had the best cameras and offer the best stock Android user experience. The company launched the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL late last year and both smartphones were crowned the 'Camera Kings' due to Google's amazing software capabilities. Since the Pixel 3 and 3 XL aren't really affordable in several countries, the company has now launched the Pixel 3a and 3a XL which aim to offer flagship camera capabilities and Google's buttery smooth UI at a much more affordable price. The mid-range duo pack in some decent specifications and offer basically the same experience as their pricier siblings; however, at almost half the price. Of course, there are a few sacrifices Google had to make to lower the prices of the two smartphones; however, these aren't major dealbreakers. Rather than going for a glass or aluminum build, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL have a polycarbonate body which is basically plastic yet t

Google Opinion Rewards App Receives New Material Design Theme

Image
Google has been steadily updating most of its applications on Android with its material design theme that's a lot more elegant and minimal. We've already seen the new material design theme been implemented with several Google applications such as Google Keep, Files by Google, Google Drive and more. The tech giant has now released a new update for the Google Opinion Rewards application which brings the new refreshed look to the app. This new redesign makes the Opinion Rewards app look a lot more 'modern' and minimalistic. The application version that brings along the UI change is 2019040806 . Simply update the app via the Google Play Store to check out the refreshed design of the application. If you aren't familiar with how to check for an update manually, simply follow the steps below. Update Google Opinion Rewards manually Launch the Google Play Store Tap on Hamburger menu  (Three horizontal lines) or swipe in from the left of the screen. Ne

The Browser That Pays You To Surf The Web

Image
Most websites these days are filled with intrusive ads that completely ruin the reading experience online. The easy way to completely block ads is to install an ad blocker; however, using an ad blocker means you'd be blocking all ads on every website which means your favorite website wouldn't make money via ads unless you tweak the ad blocker settings manually. At times this might get a tad tricky especially if you aren't familiar with how to use an ad blocker. Fortunately, there's a browser app available on the Play Store for Android devices and does have a desktop app as well which blocks ads, helps load websites faster and even rewards you. The browser I'm talking about here is Brave Browser. It allows you to browse the web faster and securely and is also fairly light on the resources. Brave Browser is built upon Chromium hence it offers a similar experience to that of Google Chrome. It blocks ads to offer you an uninterrupted viewing

Realme 3 Pro vs Redmi Note 7 Pro - Which One Should You Buy?

Image
The budget segment of the smartphone market here in India is extremely saturated and there are a ton good smartphones available under the INR 15,000 price segment. However, at the moment the out-and-out best budget smartphones are the Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Realme 3 Pro . Both devices offer the best value for your money and going with either of the two will leave you satisfied with what you got. While the two smartphones might seem absolutely similar with no differences whatsoever, that isn't really the case. These two budget beasts have a few differences between them which would help in picking the most suitable of the two for yourself. So without much further ado, let's check out a few details of both these excellent devices. Build and design The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with Gorilla Glass 5 to the front of the device as well as the back of the device which makes it the only phone in its price segment to have a glass back.  On the other hand, the
