Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL Unveiled At I/O 2019
Google's Pixel series of smartphones have consistently had the best cameras and offer the best stock Android user experience.
The company launched the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL late last year and both smartphones were crowned the 'Camera Kings' due to Google's amazing software capabilities.
Since the Pixel 3 and 3 XL aren't really affordable in several countries, the company has now launched the Pixel 3a and 3a XL which aim to offer flagship camera capabilities and Google's buttery smooth UI at a much more affordable price.
The mid-range duo pack in some decent specifications and offer basically the same experience as their pricier siblings; however, at almost half the price.
Of course, there are a few sacrifices Google had to make to lower the prices of the two smartphones; however, these aren't major dealbreakers.
Rather than going for a glass or aluminum build, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL have a polycarbonate body which is basically plastic yet the devices feel quite sturdy and comfortable in the hand.
Let's take a look at the specifications of these two mid-range Pixel devices.
Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL Specifications
It has a 5.6-inch gOLED display with a resolution of 2222 × 1080. On the rear of the device is a single 12.2MP Dual-Pixel Sony IMX363 sensor which does have optical + electronic image stabilization.
The Google Pixel 3a XL comes with exactly the same specs as the 3a; however, it has a 6.0-inch Full HD+ gOLED display and a larger 3,7000mAh battery compared to the 3a's 3,000mAh battery.
Both devices also support 18W fast charging and fortunately retain the 3.5mm headphone jack which makes sense since the devices are targeted toward the masses.
Pricing
However, the Pixel 3a starts at INR 39,999 in India while the Pixel 3a XL retails at INR 44,999 which is almost INR 10,000 higher compared to the price in the US when converted.
The only reason to consider purchasing the Pixel 3a or the Pixel 3a XL is if you're really a Google fan. I'd highly recommend everyone else to go for the OnePlus 7 or the OnePlus 7 Pro
which would be available at a similar price yet offer way more than the Pixel devices.
Both the Pixel 3a and 3a XL would be available to purchase on Flipkart from the 15th of May. Google would have nailed it if the Pixel 3a started at INR 30,000.
What are your thoughts on the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL?
