How To Get Dark Mode On Instagram

Instagram has finally begun testing the dark mode option on the latest Instagram beta application. Users who have the Instagram Beta version 114.0.0.0.24 can check out the cool new AMOLED black interface.

Some articles indicate that the dark mode is OEM specific and is only available on Samsung devices running Android 9 Pie, however, that isn't the case.

Of course, your device needs to be running Android 9 Pie at least to enable the dark mode function. Without much further ado, let's check out how to enable the cool new AMOLED black theme on Instagram.

Enable Dark Mode on Instagram

  1. Download and install the latest Instagram Beta version from this link.
  2. Once you've installed the APK file on your device, you would have to simply toggle on the system-wide dark mode option on your device.

Once you've enabled the system-wide dark mode option on your Android smartphone running Android 9 Pie or above, you'd be able to see the Instagram application change to an AMOLED black theme.

With so many smartphones launching with AMOLED displays, it's about time application developers introduce a dark mode option.

A dark theme can help save battery on smartphones with AMOLED displays hence there's no reason to not include a dark mode option.
