How To Take A Screenshot On The Oppo Reno 2

Oppo unveiled the Reno 2 series trio yesterday in India. The three devices launched are the Reno 2, Reno 2Z, and the Reno 2F.

The Reno 2 with 20x Digital Zoom capabilities isn't the successor to the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom as some might assume, however, it succeeds the standard Oppo Reno whereas the Reno 2Z and 2F are entirely new devices to the lineup since they come with MediaTek chipsets under the hood.

Nonetheless, all three devices come pre-loaded with the company's custom skin over Android — ColorOS which offers users a ton of features including a few gimmicky ones. However, one feature we all use is the ability to take a Screenshot.

Fortunately, there are multiple ways you could take a screenshot on the Oppo Reno 2 as well as the Reno 2Z and the Reno 2F.

How to capture a screenshot

Method 1: Key combination

This is one of the most common ways to capture a screenshot on almost all Android devices.

  1. Press the Volume down + Power key simultaneously to take a screenshot.

Easy peasy. The screenshot would automatically be saved to the Gallery.

Method 2: Gesture screenshot

You could also use a three-finger gesture to capture a screenshot rather than having to press the hardware keys.

Here's how to toggle on and use the 3-Finger Screenshot feature on the Oppo Reno 2/Reno 2Z/Reno 2F.

  1. Launch the Settings page and select Convenience Aid.
  2. Tap on Gesture & Motion and then toggle on the 3-Finger Screenshot gesture.
  3. Now, navigate to the page or screen you want to capture and simply swipe down on the screen with three fingers to capture the screenshot.

Method 3: Google Assistant command

You could also ask Google Assistant to capture a screenshot; however, there's one complication using this method which I'll talk about more later.

  1. Bring up Google Assistant via the voice command 'Ok Google' or simply press and hold the Home button on the navigation bar to launch GA.
  2. Give the command "take a screenshot."
  3. Google Assistant would capture a screenshot and then you'd have the option to share the screenshot on various apps.

The complication I mentioned is that the screenshot does not automatically save to the gallery hence I'd recommend using this only when you're going to share the captured screenshot on a certain app.

Capturing a long screenshot

You could also capture a long screenshot which is pretty useful especially when used to take a screenshot of a conversation 😉 or a webpage.

  1. Take a screenshot via the 3-Finger gesture or with the key combination.
  2. Once the screenshot has been taken, tap on the Long screenshot option.
  3. Simply scroll up or down and stop when you've got the content you wanted in the screenshot.

I hope the guide helped you learn a couple of new ways to capture a screenshot on the Oppo Reno 2, Reno 2Z or the Reno 2F.
