How To Take A Screenshot On Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro

Xiaomi's latest budget smartphones — the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro are finally here as the company launched them in China yesterday.

Both smartphones offer incredible value for money starting at just CNY999 or roughly Rs. 10,000 for the Redmi Note 8 and CNY1,399 around Rs. 13,999 for the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

As you might know already, Xiaomi's MIUI skin packs in a ton of features and options for users to play around with. One of those features is the ability to capture a screenshot. While you might know one or two ways to capture a screenshot on your Redmi Note 8/Note 8 Pro, there are more than two ways to take a screenshot.

How to capture a screenshot

Method 1: Key combination

Capturing a screenshot via the key combination is pretty easy and is one of the most popular methods to take a screenshot.

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power Key simultaneously.

That's it. The screenshot would be saved to your gallery application automatically.

Method 2: Notification toggle

  1. Slide down the notification panel and tap on the Screenshot toggle.

Method 3: Gestures

  1. Launch the Settings menu on your device.
  2. Tap on the ‘Take a screenshot’ option.
  3. Under the title ‘Optional Gestures and Button’, select ‘Slide 3 fingers down’.
  4. Now simply launch the app/screen you want to capture and simply use three fingers to slide down the screen to capture the screenshot.

Method 4: Google Assistant command

You could also ask Google Assistant to capture a screenshot; however, there's one complication using this method which I'll talk about more later.

  1. Bring up Google Assistant via the voice command 'Ok Google' or simply press and hold the Home key to launch GA.
  2. Give the command "take a screenshot."

Google Assistant would capture a screenshot and then you'd have the option to share the screenshot on various apps. The complication I mentioned is that the screenshot does not automatically save to the gallery hence I'd recommend using this only when you're going to share the captured screenshot on a certain app.

Method 5: Power Menu

With the latest MIUI 10 update, Xiaomi has provided another way to capture a screenshot.

  1. Long press the Power Key and then tap on the Screenshot option.

Well, those are the five ways to capture a screenshot on your Redmi Note 8 or Note 8 Pro.
