How To Reset The Oppo Reno 2
Oppo's latest trio of mid-range devices — the Reno 2, Reno 2Z and Reno 2F come with some pretty decent specifications and features for the price.
The Reno 2 is the top-of-the-line device amongst the three and packs in Qualcomm's Snapdragon 730G chipset which is currently the most powerful mid-range chip from the chipmaker.
However, even though the device has great specifications, it does not guarantee that you wouldn't come across a bug or two. Usually, certain rogue apps might slow down your phone or a system update might introduce a few bugs which are often fixed by resetting the device.

Important: To avoid any loss of personal data, it would be a wise decision to backup all files on your device since resetting it would erase all the data on your smartphone. Also, make sure to have your device plugged into a power source or at least have over 60% battery before beginning.
Method 1: Software Reset
Resetting your device via the Reset option within the OS is the easiest way to reset a device hence I'd suggest performing a factory data reset using this method if you're able to access the Settings app on your device.
- Go to Settings - Additional settings - Back up and Reset.
- Now select Reset to Factory Settings.
- Confirm your action and wait for the process to finish.
Method 2: Hard Reset/Recovery mode reset
Using recovery mode to reset your device is a great option for those who aren't able to boot their device into the OS. It might seem a tad tricky, however, if you follow the steps below it wouldn't take any longer than the Software Reset method.
- Power off your Oppo Reno 2/Reno 2Z/Reno 2F.
- Once the device is turned off, press and hold the Volume down and Power key simultaneously until you see the Oppo logo on the screen.
- Select the English language option by using the Volume up and down keys to navigate and then tap on the Power key to confirm the action.
- Once again, use the volume keys to navigate to the option 'Wipe data' and select it by pressing the Power key.
- Press the Power key again to confirm the action when asked to confirm your action.
That's it.
After resetting your device you would have to set it up the same way you did when you first booted your Oppo Reno 2.
