Self-destructing Messages Might Soon Be A WhatsApp Feature

WhatsApp Self-Destructing Messages on Android

WhatsApp has seen its fair share of updates with major new features within the past couple of years. The app developers are now testing a new 'self-destructing' messages feature on WhatsApp that would allow users to send messages which would automatically self-destruct (delete) after a set time period.

The new feature was first spotted by WABetaInfo, who claim that the self-destructing messages feature made an appearance in version 2.19.275 of the Android app.

Self-deleting messages aren't a new feature by any means since there are a bunch of instant messaging applications on the Play Store and App Store that have had the feature baked into their app for a couple of years now.

At present, the self-destructing messages feature allows users to delete their sent messages either after 5 seconds or 1 hour. Unfortunately, there's no other option at the moment, however, things might change if and when the feature becomes available to the public.
