Is The Google Pixel 4 Waterproof?

Pixel-4-front-back-waterproof

Google unveiled its flagship duo for the year, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. Both devices were heavily leaked before the launch and there isn't really anything new that surprised us. The Pixel 4 and 4 XL start at a price of $799 and $899 respectively and you might be wondering whether or not the Pixel 4 duo is waterproof.

Well, you can ease your mind since the new flagship devices from Google indeed have an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. This means that the Pixel 4 duo should be able to survive being submerged under 1.5m of water for 30 minutes.

Of course, it's worth noting that an Ingress Protection rating does not always guarantee that the device would always survive being submerged in water or exposed to dust.

Nonetheless, while we weren't surprised by the specifications and features on the latest Pixel duo, what surprised is that the Pixel 4 duo would not be brought over to India. It seems Google has decided to skip one of the largest markets in the world for smartphones.

However, if you're from India, there's no reason to be disappointed since the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL do not bring anything new to the table. We'd safely recommend picking up the OnePlus 7T which comes with a faster SoC as well as the 90Hz display at a way cheaper price.
