Is The Realme 5 Pro Waterproof?

Oppo's sub-brand Realme launched the Realme 5 Pro and the budget-friendly Realme 5 in India yesterday. The Realme 5 Pro is available at a starting price of Rs. 14,999 although you could pick it up from Flipkart for Rs. 13,999.

Unlike the Redmi Note 7 Pro which has a glass sandwich design, the Realme 5 Pro has a polycarbonate build which has its own pros and cons.

Nonetheless, if you're interested in knowing whether or not the latest device from Realme is water-resistant, then you might be slightly disappointed since the Realme 5 Pro does not have any official IP rating.

However, things are not all that bad since the smartphone does have some splash resistance which means the device shouldn't be damaged with a few splashes of water as long as it's wiped off soon.

Realme also mentions that users can unlock the device with wet hands too as long as there isn't much water.

With all that said, I'd still suggest keeping the device as far away from water as possible to avoid causing any damage to the device.
