How To Take A Screenshot On The Realme 5

Realme's latest budget duo — the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro were launched in India yesterday at a starting price of Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 14,999 respectively.

Both smartphones come pre-loaded with Android 9 Pie along with the company's custom skin Color OS 6.0.

If this is your first smartphone from Oppo or Realme, then you might not be familiar with a few features on the device such as how to capture a screenshot.

Fortunately, capturing a screenshot on the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro is fairly simple and there are more than a couple of ways to take a screenshot on both devices.

How to capture a screenshot

Method 1: Key combination

This is one of the most common ways to capture a screenshot on almost all Android devices.

  1. Press the Volume down + Power key simultaneously to take a screenshot.

Easy peasy. The screenshot would automatically be saved to the Gallery.

Method 2: Gesture screenshot

You could also use a three-finger gesture to capture a screenshot rather than having to press the hardware keys.

Here's how to toggle on and use the 3-Finger Screenshot feature on the Realme 5 and 5 Pro.

  1. Launch the Settings page and select Convenience Aid.
  2. Tap on Gesture & Motion and then toggle on the 3-Finger Screenshot gesture.
  3. Now, navigate to the page or screen you want to capture and simply swipe down on the screen with three fingers to capture the screenshot.

Method 3: Google Assistant command

You could also ask Google Assistant to capture a screenshot; however, there's one complication using this method which I'll talk about more later.

  1. Bring up Google Assistant via the voice command 'Ok Google' or simply press and hold the Home button on the navigation bar to launch GA.
  2. Give the command "take a screenshot."
  3. Google Assistant would capture a screenshot and then you'd have the option to share the screenshot on various apps.

The complication I mentioned is that the screenshot does not automatically save to the gallery hence I'd recommend using this only when you're going to share the captured screenshot on a certain app.

Capturing a long screenshot

You could also capture a long screenshot which is pretty useful especially when used to take a screenshot of a conversation 😉 or a webpage.

  1. Take a screenshot via the 3-Finger gesture or with the key combination.
  2. Once the screenshot has been taken, tap on the Long screenshot option.
  3. Simply scroll up or down and stop when you've got the content you wanted in the screenshot.

I hope this guide helped you capture a screenshot on your shiny new device.
