How To Enable WhatsApp Fingerprint Lock Feature
WhatsApp has finally released the Fingerprint lock functionality for its Android beta application. This feature allows users to lock the app to prevent others from snooping around the instant messaging application.
The new feature comes with WhatsApp's beta 2.19.221 build which is available to download via the Google Play Store if you've signed up as a beta tester for WhatsApp.
To enlist yourself as a beta tester, simply click here or search for WhatsApp on the Google Play Store and go to the app's page. Scroll down until you see the option to Become a beta tester. Tap on I'm in and wait for a few minutes to be enrolled as a beta tester for the app.
Now simply download the WhatsApp Messenger (Beta) application on your device. Once you've downloaded the latest WhatsApp beta, it's time to set up the Fingerprint lock feature.
Enable WhatsApp Fingerprint lock
Enabling the Fingerprint lock feature is fairly simple and shouldn't take more than minute.
- Launch WhatsApp on your device.
- Tap on the three-dots icon towards the top right of the screen.
- Select Settings and then tap on Account.
- Now tap on Privacy and scroll down to find the option that says Fingerprint lock and select it.
- By default, the feature would be disabled hence to enable it simply toggle on the option to Unlock with fingerprint.
