Google Goes On A Diet - Ditching Desserts

Up until now, Google has been naming each version of Android after desserts, however, to our surprise, the tech giant has completely ditched the traditional naming scheme for the latest Android 10 release.

Google has officially announced that the upcoming Android version would be called Android 10 and future releases would follow the new sans-dessert names as well such as Android 11 and so on.

This new naming pattern is a lot less erratic especially for those users who aren't really familiar with the traditional dessert names for Android.

Not only has Google deserted the dessert naming scheme for its future Android versions but it has also changed the logo for Android and made it a tad more minimalistic.

The company's YouTube video shows the subtle tweaks made to the Android logo such as moving the Android robot's eyes lower and making a few other adjustments to the shape of the head.

What are your thoughts on Google's new naming pattern?
