Samsung Delays Galaxy Fold Release

Samsung was on track to be the first major OEM to release a fully functional folding smartphone this month; however, not all has gone according to plan and the company has postponed the release of the device.

The Galaxy Fold was to be released on 26th April to users who had already pre-ordered the device, but as you might know already, the device has some major issues especially with its display.

A few reviewers/testers who managed to get their hands-on with Samsung's folding phone reported that the screen broke after they tried to peel off a layer from the screen which 'looked like a screen protector.'

Turns out the layer is a part of the display itself and isn't supposed to be peeled off; however, the reviewer units did not come with any warning to make them aware of the risk.

Some other testers also claimed that the screen broke even without peeling off the film from the screen which is even more concerning.

The South Korean giant released its initial statement surrounding the matter soon after the news broke of these issues in which the company reported that the release is still on track and they would investigate further to determine what caused the issue.

A fresh statement from the company now makes it clear that the Galaxy Fold would not be released just yet since Samsung had determined some of the causes for the issues and would begin working on making the device a tad more durable.

Samsung hasn't provided any release date hence we'd have to wait and see how the company could improve the major flaws within a few weeks or couple of months.
